Doors

My shooters photo challenge was to document doorways. That was before I left for Paris -- and so I had no choice but to photograph Parisian doorways...

And so here are my results.

The doors of Notre Dame:

The entryway to the Louvre:

The door to what was once a nobleman's home:

And the door to a simple bookstore:

It was hard to find a common door in Paris.  You will excuse me for my excesses in this regard.  And now I would love to see your doors.

I know I've been napping on the job

I've been remiss, but I'm going to pick up the challenges this week. How about "Doors?"  I'm going on a trip, so my job will be easy and this will give me a reason to photograph something other than touristy things.   What's your idea of an interesting door?

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

I didn't take this challenge literally, but instead decided to use the reflective landscape of New York City to interpret a mirror theme.  Do you see the mirrors I found on my walk last weekend to Central Park with my husband and dog?  He took the last one, which is my favorite.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Everybody has one. Some of us spend too much time looking in them and others not nearly enough.  Photographers with flash cameras try to avoid them.  I don't have many mirrors but I'm going to try to do something with them this week.

Looking Up

What do you see when you look up?

A face?

The sky?

A ceiling?

A lamppost?

I'm going to look up this week and see what I can find -- inside, outside -- somewhere.  If you look up too, please post a link. I'd like to see what you find.  Have a great week!!!

Switching the blog over

I had a tough time navigating Wordpress.  It was just taking me too much time and thought to post and, in the meantime, blogspot made some improvements in the way they let us post photos, so it's a win/win, I think.

Soooooo....I've been thinking of finding unique ways to frame a photo subject.  You know, some shrubbery that is closeby to frame a distance scene, or something like that?  Peeking through one thing to see another?  So this week the topic is "Frame It," and here is my first entry.  Yes. I'm obsessed with this cat. And he is obsessed with me. :-)
